Apr 15, 2024 - Milksteak Monday: Persephone

The notes for Persephone have me super curious about it. I may grab it on the blind

Let me know if you want me to send you a smush. To my nose, it's a nice, fresh scent that doesn't really grab my attention.

  • Brush: Grizzly Bay Shire 26mm V18 Fanchurian

  • Razor: Dovo Bismarck 6/8" Full Hollow Round Point

  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Shire 2 - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth - Shire 2 - Splash

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Shire does not disappoint. I haven't used it in a while and it was far better than I remembered it. I also brought out the Iron Chancellor for a go. One of my most comfortable 6/8 razors.

Love Shire. Some days my nose picks up more of the tobacco than usual and I extra love it come then

Yes, I agree. Today, I was picking up more of the tobacco.

Killing Varen: Operation Inferno, we're getting there

  • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
  • Razor: Weck Hair Shaper (green translucent scales)
  • Blade: Kismet Rostfrei, Polymer beschichtet
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Varen
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Varen
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Co Spearhead! Heather

No pic this time, wasn't inspired yesterday evening.

After today's shave, there's only a little smush of soap left that I've collected in the centre of the tub. I'll wrap this up after Tabac Tuesday.

Varen + Heather is underrated. Heather has this gentle, almost (but not) sweet scent, and you'd think it'd get eclipsed by Varen's powerful blast of oakmoss and forest floor. Instead, gentle Heather takes the edge off Varen and combines with it into a soft, lively green scent.

Monday, April 15, 2024: Back 2 Operation Babylon

After my stagging distraction on the week-end – which has probably cost me the lead against @[email protected] – I'm back at killing Marduk. I estimate roughly 5 shaves (maybe a little bit more, maybe a little bit less). The Friodur is a great razor, even if it's not as shiny as my Thiers-Issard, and I'm also very happy about the Pitralon (I'm slightly offended that the German version is better than the Austrian, but I should have gotten used to that by now 🤷‍).

Have a good night!

Lead in what? Soap killing? You are definitively in the lead in that department, good sir. You've killed at least that Haslinger a few weeks back

I don't have 2 soaps on the brink of extinction - just sayin' 😎

Neither do I as of a few hours ago 😎😄
