The Magical Fruit

The Oromo people would customarily plant a coffee tree on the graves of powerful sorcerers. They believed that the first coffee bush sprang up from the tears that the god of heaven shed over the corpse of a dead sorcerer.

The angle of this picture almost completely hides the cup. I thought you made a latte art cookie at first, lol.

๐Ÿ˜‚. You're totally right. Doesn't help that I use glass cups.

Here are a few tips which you might find helpful.

  1. Try to limit the amount of bubble production when steaming your milk, you can control this by adjusting the depth of the steaming wand. Closer to the surface = more/bigger bubbles.
  2. Make sure your steaming wand is NOT an auto frother. It's almost impossible to get good microfoam with an auto frother.
  3. After steaming, tap hard on the counter a few times to pop the biggest bubbles, then swirl for about 10 seconds to homogenize.
