Hello my friends im visiting denmark soon via train. And I was wondering what the most efficient way to get around would be where im staying there is only some buses that dont fit my need. Are there maybe any uber alternatives or are taxis relatively affordable in the region between silkeborg and aarhus?

Edit: I dont mean from silkeborg to aarhus like A to B. But i want to travel around short distances between those citys like 10min car rides to the city and stuff like that Thanks!

There are apps you can use for taxis, “Dantaxi” is what I normally use.

A 10 minute (4-5 km) trip would be around 150 kr in Aarhus, you can get a price with the above app if you put in the addresses.

In Aarhus public transportation is generally pretty good, less so in Silkeborg but still alright, depending on your expectations of course.

I suggest you use “Rejseplanen” to plan trips with public transit.

Alternative you can rent a car from private people through GoMore, of course Europcar, Hertz and so on as well, but that’s much more expensive.

If you are just going between Silkeborg and Århus, you could just as easily use public transportation. Taxi are expensive, and Uber aren't in Denmark.

Or else you need to rent a car for you stay.

Trains and busses can take you around really many places in Denmark. Do you have any more specific requirements/wishes?

Try ‘AURA DELEBIL’ It’s the cheapest option to rent an electric car by hour (shortest is 30 min that will cost 20 DKK in total)

I can see that there are 3 cars in Silkeborg city. You should pick them and return same place, otherwise you only pay for the time driven.

I’m staying at a place thats a little “rural” like theres one family homes there. But I’ll look into it maybe im lucky. I was thinking about taking my foldable bike with me but I can’t remember if there were like “bike compartments in the danish trains or not.

You can take your bike on the train. You just have to buy a ticket for the bike.

I would say that a combination of train and bike is the best way to get around, if you don't have a car. But there are many hills around Silkeborg, so I would prefer a rather good bike.

Almost all Danes have bikes, but not everybody use their bike often. Perhaps you could find a local Facebook group and ask if someone has a bike, you can rent/borrow.

As a dane you are not popular if you ask other Danes to bike between Århus and Silkeborg. Been there done that. Biking between Silkeborg and Århus is not for untrained bikers. Nice routes though if you can do it over more than one day.

Expect around kr. 1000 for a taxi between Silkeborg and Aarhus. Uber is illegal in Denmark.

Your best bet between Silkeborg and Aarhus is a bus.

I was more thinking of like short rides like 10min rodes to the city or to another friend. I just wasnt sure how to call the region lol. But yeah for short distances

Since they ceased operation, they aren't "illegal" anymore than I am in my personal car, not operating a taxi service.

They were deemed in violation of existing rules and they ceased operation due to not wanting to nor being able to be in compliance with the current rules.

If you perform an action that is illegal in one country, then you're not a criminal in that country. If you perform the same action in another country where that action is illegal, then you're a criminal in the other country. That is, if Uber were to continue their practice in Denmark, it would be illegal. The reason they're not criminals in Denmark is because they left Denmark.

What they did wasn't illegal. They challenged existing rules, not law, as I understand it.

If you're doing something and it becomes illegal and you stop doing that, it doesn't make what you did "illegal", only if you were to continue doing so - which they didn't.

So saying "Uber is not legal" is s misnomer.

No, they point is, they to not keep doing it, because continuing the practice would be illegal. Uber are more than welcome to enter the Danish market within Danish regulations.

Use the train, otherwise see if you can't plan trips using services such as GoMore, NaboGo or Ta' Med to cover some of your trips.

Alternatively you can look into using the Flextrafik, depending on your specific usecases.

You can use rejseplanen.dk to plan you trips and see if you're offered a Flex or Plus trip to your destinations, you will only get offered this if your connection isn't reachable by other means of public transit.
