Nobody feels ready after the legal minimum. There's a reason it's a legal minimum - it's the point where the best theoretical student could be ready.

I was in no way ready for my test after my obligatory lessons, so I paid for more the days before and I passed. Take the amount of lessons you need in order to pass. No one gives a shit how many lessons you take.

My wife failed the test 11 times before passing when she was younger due to anxiety during testing, so don't worry about it. Averages don't matter, what matters is that you feel ready.

OP note this: you are likely to never feel ready for the driving exam, because you are nervous. Quite normal. Also note, that your instructor earn ALOT of extra cash for those lessons they state you “need”.

I’d say try out the exam.

Don't feel anything negative about it, a lot get extra lessons. There's more to it than just driving a car. Take the time you need, switch instructors if possible and believe in yourself. You can do this.

Don't worry about the amount of classes (as long as the cost is not a problem).

Your instructor has to be on board with you being ready for the final exam, and some instructors are bound to want to get their students to a higher competency level than others (whether it's to get extra money is another discussion). In other words, the number of classes you end up taking is meaningless.

See it as what it is: training to become a better driver. You're likely not gonna be in a situation with a certified instructor like this again after passing the exam. If money and time wasn't an issue, taking 100 lessons would just make you a better driver than most.

You're taking a bunch more than the minimum, you can bet that means you will be a better driver than someone insisting on taking the exam and barely passing after the minimum amount of lessons.

It's more about being good at tests than it is driving. If you feel it won't hit your confidence too much to fail, just try the test.

Just always remember that you're in a 1 ton killing machine and respect that. If you do that, you'll be safe even with subpar driving skills.

In Denmark it’s pretty common to not be ready after the set amount of lessons because we don’t get to practice at home/with relatives, only with the instructor. My parents always told me you don’t actually learn to drive until a half year after you’ve passed your test and I’d say that was certainly the case for me lol. Take your time

You don’t need to take the driver exam in Copenhagen, I did mine in Roskilde and it was nice that you were driving there so you got a bit practice before the real deal. And also not that many bikes…
