Self Aware Wolves

0 users here now

The only official SelfAwarewolves in the Fediverse, created by the mods from Reddit. Once in a blue moon redditors almost transform into self aware creatures. Almost. Submit posts (from anywhere) where people unknowingly describe themselves. Specifically, someone who, when attempting to mock or denigrate their political opposition, accidentally describes themselves. They aren't self aware enough to notice. Or, alternatively, someone who accurately describes the world while trying to parody it. Sidenote: Memes aren't people, they can't be selfawarewolves.

This comes from Reddit, where the official sub just reopened after a week of being private in protest. The sub has decided to promote Kbin and Lemmy via the front page, when the former Top Mod stepped in with this exchange. The former Top mod abandoned the Subreddit for several years and had to be removed by Reddit.

But are they aware of their own dereliction? That is, is this an example of selfawarewolfism?

They were not. In the removal, they kept whining about how much they had done for the Subreddit, which actually amounted to creating it and then fucking off after installing a bunch of their minecraft friends as mods. One of those mods added one of the current mods, who then built the sub up and tackled all the spam and nonsense that had built up over a year or so of neglect.

July 3 is the next full moon. Maybe they'll gain some selfawareness then.
