In principle I agree, but bro ain't ever been about tech, but about who controls it, and for what purposes.

Tech bros of today are petty, greedy and selfish, and they are the template characters for the stories.

Then we have our current late stage capitalism with the BS trickled down economy, and the overall pie getting smaller due to environmental catastrophe. And I won't even get started with the current regressivist status of global politics.

All in all, the most far fetching aspect of StarTrek today is to imagine the possibility of a unified human race coexisting and socio-collaborating with other species. The Expanse seens much more plausible.

AI: In light of distrust of progress and environmental concerns, the authors call for a revolution in thinking and a positive vision of the future. They argue that science fiction should offer inspiring stories that can inspire the creation of a better world. Instead of constant warnings and descriptions of dark prospects, it is necessary to expand the boundaries of the imagination and imagine alternative scenarios based on cooperation, innovation and progress.
