1. Stay Civil

This is a place for friendly discussion, memes, guides, art, gameplay questions, screenshots and the like. Discrimination and harrassment won't be tolerated.

2. Mark Spoilers

It is okay to post about "related games" (such as Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild) but please use the spoiler "censor" and do not put spoilers directly into the title, as the censor doesn't work this way. Posts about other Zelda games might be suited better in general Zelda communities, like the ones listed at the bottom of the sidebar.

3. Offtopic Posts

Anything not related to BotW, like politics, religion, non-Zelda games etc. is better suited elsewhere and will be removed. The same goes for NSFW material.

4. No Advertisements

It is okay to post about merchandise, but links to those "design your own merch" sites will be removed, as those are almost always scams featuring stolen art. Affliate links will be removed as well. This isn't Etsy.

5. Provide Sources

If you're going to post art, comics, guides, screenshots etc. that are not your own OC, please mention the name of the original creator and ideally also a link to their portfolio/website. (Pinterest is almost never the original source)

6. Suggestions are Welcome!

Feedback, requests for improvements and constructive criticism are always appreciated ;)

So I recently started playing ToTK, having finished BotW some time ago.

Playing through, all is well until I find myself in the Depths and having to return.

Selecting shrines or towers on the map gives no option to warp to them whatsoever.

Have I managed to softlock myself out of teleporting?

Odd... I do know that there are some accension points in the depths that can get you back to the surface. You can also chase down the dragons for a ride back up. So I dont think you are stuck there. But I don't know why you wouldn't be able to teleport out.

I think the game allowed me to jump off sky island without letting me know about some 4th shrine I would apparently teleport to?

Isn't there any other place on sky island that you can teleport to?

No. No other shrines or towers or roots offer any sort of fast travel option. Ive backed up the saves and started a new game to see if I missed something but can't really be bothered to slog through it again now.

If they haven't unlocked fast travel yet, they likely haven't bought the elemental clothes to survive a ride on Dinraal, Naydra or Farosh.

Is the Light Dragon even a thing in the early game? Or do they only appear after certain game events?

If you've managed to get down from Sky Island without doing 4 shrines, that's 100% a bug, and if you can't teleport back up, I don't have a clue how to fix that.

I think you're stuck having to restart. Which sucks because Great Sky Island is notoriously the sloggiest part of the game. Not sure why it play so much worse than the Great Plateau.

Not a bug. The OP explains in the other post that they edited their heart count to open the Door of Time earlier than intended, which skips the cutscene that triggers the fourth shrine and the teleportation feature to be unlocked. You're not supposed to be able to teleport earlier than that, so the game works as intended (even tho it sucks for the OP to be stuck that way)

Not sure why it play so much worse than the Great Plateau.

100% agreed to that point tho. It takes AGES just to get to the shrines in the first place and locking the teleport feature up until the very end of the tutorial wasn't exactly the wisest design choice. In BotW the player can teleport as soon as there is a travel point unlocked, and story-wise it is weird that Link somehow forgot how fast travel works between the two games.

Which sucks because Great Sky Island is notoriously the sloggiest part of the game.

You can say that again. I've already quit several times before the 3rd shrine.
