This breaks my "keep it wholesome" rule so I put it behind a warning.

In 2019 someone set fire to the Kyoto Animation studio. 36 people died. This ongoing tragedy has reached the beginning of the end. The man responsible has been sentenced to death by the court.

I do not intent on posting such heavy news items in the future. This one seems to conclude the tragedy and is an exception. It may provide fans of the various Kyoto Animation works with a sense closure. All my Kyoto Animation related communities will continue to focus on wholesome SFW things like fan art, discussion and special events.

Do you know if his claims were true, that they stole his intellectual property?

I have not looked into it so I don't know how true it is. Kyoto Animation has rejected the claim. I don't think it would have been much different even if they did steal the story. It would still leave 36 death and I don't think a different sentence would have been handed out given the latter fact.
