I noticed that when using MakeMKV to rip my DVD collection, certain DVDs (perhaps that have scratches, or other defects) fail to rip on my DVD drive of my desktop computer, but my laptop's disk drive can rip them ok, and they play fine after the fact. I feel like the drive in the desktop is highly sensitive to defects and as a result can't rip some DVDs that are in bad shape, even if the data needed for the streams is in adequate shape. Is there any way to make this particular DVD drive less sensitive so I can rip these disks universally here? I am decommissioning the Laptop and want to use the desktop exclusively to rip disks.
