He had swelling on his neck, that could possibly be cancer. Turns out it's hyperthyroidism, and he just has to take medication from now on.

this episode was mentioned in the documentary about the Dana Carvey show. They were putting their whacky adult humor on right after this heartstring yanking stuff playing to a very different audience
