It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

Does Lemmy's "hot" algo give a gigantic boost to items that get 1 upvote if they are ancient? This popped up in my hot feed despite being 3 years old and only have 3 upvotes total.
