Instantly pops in my head:

It's written there in blue. With a heart and an arrow through. Now her names on you...

(Different song, I know)

Good choice. I listened to an interview with Matthew Sweet about the making of his album Girlfriend. The fun fact I learned was that he was hanging out with Lloyd Cole at the time and he played on some of the tracks…and he convinced Sweet to call the album and song Girlfriend, rather than Good Friend

I was actually trying to remember the name of another band - casting back through my memory - when Lloyd Cole, and Rattlesnakes specifically, popped into my head. And I just instantly knew it had to be here.

And now I'm sitting here listening to the album and singing along to songs I haven't listened to in probably 20 years and it's glorious.
