Have autism, so no bridge building tools. 🤲 others put up bridges occasionally and I enjoy them while they last then 👋

Ya know what though? The people on the other side could have done their part to maintain that bridge and also failed. Fuck 'em. I know who truly cares about me these days and it's just one guy out of hundreds.

People forget that naturally drifting apart is a perfectly natural and often healthy thing for relationships. Friends at one stage of your life are NOT fit for others. See how drastically things change when they start having families.

You're right though. Relationships are a two way street.

However anybody who blames one party for not reaching out when they ALSO haven't is about as petty as it gets. Relationships take effort to maintain. Most people don't want to hear that. Especially ND folk shoving the onus onto their NT friends.

people @ me: "You never text/call"

Phones work both ways. I've had dozens of "friendships" where absolutely nothing would happen or be said unless I initiate everything

I've since learned to leave those behind, unless the friend is reciprocal once I do start the interaction :)

The admins of our instance work hard to ensure that we have a good place to host our community. They are also helpful at protecting our community from trolls and other malicious actors. They do this for free, so if you appreciate our community, please consider donating to them. The first link is the preferred method, but both work.
