Bangs are configurable in your browser.

Instant answers are offered by every search engine. Bing's are way better than ddg.

I don't want a free tier VPN.

DDG is just shit all the way up and down. I used the search engine for a few years but direct searches on websites are the way. Searx if you're not sure what site you want.
