What are some others? I'm sure there's entire genres of browser-based games I've missed.

FlightRising.. that brings back memories. I even backed that game on Kickstarter way back in the day.

Dragon Cave and MagiStream are two more I loved.

Can't forget Cookie Clicker!

I uses to play a game called Red Crucible 2, a FPS that runs on the Unity Plugin. Game now moved to steam, but its practically a dead game now.
