This week I have mostly been practicing look ahead and my average times have dropped from a minute to 45 seconds, which is quite the drop.

I've been stuck at the minute average for a while now, but my PB is just over half that at 32 seconds and it was annoying me. Such inconsistent results!

All I'm doing is planning the cross better and trying to spend less time looking at the F2L pair I'm currently doing. I've been practicing both PLL and OLL algs and nearly have them all down now, so that's helping.

Also I'm trying to solve more when I'm doing something else like walking to work or watching TV, because this means I look at what I'm doing, then do the Algorithm blind while I watch TV or dodge the dog turd, then have another look.

That's an amazing improvement! Awesome job!

Same with me. I'm at about 15s average for...a couple years now? And my PB is 7.96

That's good to know, I assumed it was consistency of solving that was making such a disparity but I guess it's just a lucky solve here and there.

I'd love to get down to your speed, I'll have to keep practicing. I have a "Work Cube" in my pocket at work that I try to solve between jobs. It's production line work so I have limited time between each part on the line. With your solve speed I'd be able to get 2 or 3 in between parts!
