How many in the arsenal squad are world class? Define WC and list:

For me world class means the player would not look out of place starting for Citeh, Barca, RM or Bayern.

Saliba , Saka, Odegaard and Rice.

Having Word class talent and being a world class player are different things for me. Saka, ode, saliba, etc have WC talent but i wouldn’t consider them WC players. WC players produce week in week out and impact almost every single match. Rarely disappear. And if you’re doing that at a big club, you will then see the individual plaudits but more importantly the big trophies. That’s really what it’s all about. So in my humble opinion, I don’t think anyone on arsenal is truly a world class player YET. They are certainly on their way.

So they’ve got 4 world class players that haven’t won a domestic league Title or European Cup, weird that.

Saka, saliba, odegard, rice, martinelli, raya, Jesus, Gabriel

Not Havertz

None. Maybe Odegaard at a push

Well I consider Mbappe, Messi, Ronaldo, R9, Neymar, Henry etc as world class not sure if any team in PL has any except for Salah in Liverpool and KBD in City. Halland despite his goal record will not be considered as world class in my opinion as Haaland is not a complete footballer whereas the names I mentioned above are actual world class as they are complete footballers with a legacy which will be talked for generations. Saka and Haaland are still new and young and it will take time to build their legacy, so let's not media press them as 'world class' yet.

Saka is a weird player. He massively benefits from being a right winger, I feel like if he was a left winger he would not be as highly rated

Saliba and Rice easily, both are solid at what they do and have consistently great performances.

Maybe Saka too, but he has had inconsistency over the seasons, particularly last season when I felt he wasn’t as on his game.

Martinelli is getting up there in terms of skill, he’s pretty impressive all around. His finishing could use more work but his attacking buildup and dribbling are just fun to watch.

Not seen him mentioned but also, Tomiyasu and Zinchenko are both excellent. Not there yet, but they’re both getting better with each season it feels like.

Saliba, rice are the two definites potential odegaard, martinelli and Saka.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Rice, Saliba, Saka for sure.

Big Gabi and Ode are very close imo. Same with Partey but too injury prone and inconsistent.

Nelli is a bit of a way off but can definitely see him developing into world class talent.

I think world class should be top 5 in your position for a period of more than 18 months. Which I don't think any of the Arsenal players are.

I'd definitely say that lots are top 5 within their age bracket though considering how young most of the squad is.

Rice is probably the 2nd best DM in the world so I’d say him and yeah any club would start Saliba. Saka and odegaard not quite yet imo.

Ramsdale apparently was just 6 months ago haha

I'd take any replies from Arsenal fans with a pinch of salt

I’ve never seen a more pathetic fanbase than Arsenal’s. The lengths to which this lot goes to seek validation from rival fan bases is sad af! Arsenal has ZERO world class players at the moment.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

World Class: would get into a "world" World Cup 23 man squad.

I'll have a think over how many/any get in.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

None. They haven’t win anything major or only had one good season.

We don’t have any world class players, but we’ve got players that in a couple of years could well go on to become world class

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

None. They have a lot og class players. To Me a world class player, who can get in the starting 11 on any team, and make instant impact:

We are talking: Haaland, De Bruyne, Bellingham, Messi, Mbappé and so on

no one has said this yet but partey is absolutely world class. he does everything a elite DM does and arsenal are much more reliant on him than people know

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Saka at most, and sem that is contentious.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

If world class means they can get into almost any squad or like top 5 in their position it would be

Saka Saliba and Rice.

I’d like to think most teams would want Odegaard and Martinelli but I wouldn’t necessarily rank either top 5 in the position as of right now but they have the capacity to make it there later in their careers imo.

The world class debate in general is pretty ridiculous because everyone has different meanings.

What IS world class? A term coined by social media and pundits?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Agree with your picks, I'd add Gabi XL to that list and maybe Gabi Martinelli too

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Saliba, Rice and Saka

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Tottenham fan here and yes you're right, they have 4 world class players
