Happy I sit out the 40 series by being lucky enough to grab a 3090 at RRP (UK) for cheaper than 3080 RRP by selling my 1080ti at the time.

It's just been an Nvidia pricing, ram, product stack fuckery & scalping shitshow.

China can be responsible for lots of things, but certainly not for Ngreedia's 40xx cards.

Yeah their out of stock in usual places, low in others, and some retailers have marked them up by as much as $200.
