Hi,

My mother-in-law has a decent amount of cash in her house, mostly in 1000 DKK bills.

She is so afraid to take it to the bank because she doesn't know what to say about where she got it. She has just been saving up for years, and there's no illegal way she obtained it.

If we would like to exchange it for Euros or another currency, what is the best way to do that? Can I just walk into a currency kiosk or a bank and exchange 20k or 30k DKK, or is there a limit? Do exchange kiosks accept 1000 DKK bills?

Thank you in advance.

I couldnt deposit more than 10k a month with full receipts on how I obtained the cash. Doubt most banks will take a large cash amount regardless of how old you are.

An old lady depositing to her own account going..

"Oh I've just had my own little savings over the years!"

Literally nobody will bat an eye.
