Hej hej, I’m currently studying for a masters in Denmark. I’m not from here originally so as everyone is I have been confused about the grading system.

What I am most curious about is what a ‘good’ grade is, not just according to the grading scheme but to employers, socially, etc. I’m looking to stay in DK long term so I’m wondering what kind of ‘GPA’ would be safe to achieve to make sure my grades won’t be any issue when applying for jobs.

Taaak :)

Edit: I’m studying in social sciences at KU - I would say my program but it’s small and I want to stay anonymous haha

  • I’m also aiming to work in consulting post grad !

Getting a relevant student job at 5-10hr a week will be the biggest boost to your opportunities. My two-hour-a-week student helper job got me my first real job. Most jobs are found through network and not grades.

7 is average, so anything above that should be decent depending on how competitive your degree is. Just ask some danish students in your class and they likely have a good idea of how easy it is to get a job after your studies.

Its unlikely anyone will hire you only because your average is 12. They would likely rather hire someone with 8 average and 2 years of part time experience if they have the option (in my experience). I don't think anyone in my degree had above 11 average (engineering)
