Hi r/Denmark,

Nyidanmark claims that the family reunification visa process typically takes a maximum of 7 months from start to finish. Does anyone have firsthand experience with this process and can provide insights into the actual time frames? Have you found it to be generally accurate, or have you experienced longer or shorter wait times? I'm about to apply for the visa and would appreciate hearing about others' experiences.

First hand experience - the waiting time is rarely over the listed time limit. But usually not too much lower, either. If they say 7 months, I would not count on having it before 5 months. But I wouldn't make any important plans that required the visa before 7-8 months, just to be sure.

It's a lot of waiting and then all of a sudden, something happens. You can put yourself in a good position by being very careful about all the needed documentation, and also to try to organize it neatly for the case worker who has to review it.

Best of luck!
