Really nice fun people with a cool language and great pastry. A little jealous of their beautiful country! Don't know that much more about it, never been there but I'd love to.
What are the downsides? I hear the economy isn't very good but that was a while ago

The economy here is very bad... very low wages and absurdly high housing prices. Many, many young people are considering emigrating (myself included) because in addition to the bad economy, we are very badly governed. The far right is on the rise here! Just yesterday they elected 48 MPs from a far-right party (just to see how things are going and yesterday was election day).
We're the ones who are jealous of Denmark 😂 a country with high salaries, a good quality of work-life balance and so on.
Portugal is a beautiful country and I recommend you come and visit in the summer! However, we are very badly governed, because if we weren't, we'd be one of the best countries in the world to live in.
Love Denmark (:

That sucks! It's so absurd that the prettiest countries with the coolest people have the worst economies and governments lol. Sorry to hear about the election! That sucks! What's up with politics in Portugal? Lots of immigrants? Lots of angry old people?

Uncontrolled immigration, several years of promises by the former government that came to nothing, the incompetence of many politicians, many losses of money and so on. This is causing the extreme right to grow enormously (which makes me very sad because for 48 years Portugal lived under a military dictatorship and this year [25 April] marks 50 years since that dictatorship ended). Many older people are very apprehensive about the rise of the far right, but others don't seem to mind...
Now we run the risk of losing a lot of legal rights. In fact, they've barely won the elections and they already want to hold a referendum on abortion. The rights of women, LGBTQ+ people and so on are going to be jeopardised again, that's for sure. I don't know where things will end up.
But thanks for the praise for Portugal and the Portuguese ❤️

Oh that sucks!!! Hope it gets better soon! Poland had a really shit right wing period too and look at them now. Things get better even when it looks really dark!

I'd love to go to Copenhagen (:
Norway seems to be very cool as well, but I think I would enjoy Denmark more haha
Maybe one day we'll see each other :p

I like your attitude! We won't see each other. I expect my countrymen to hang me at dawn for saying Norway is nicer than Denmark.

just remember that the reason for many of the things you dislike in Portugal is because of the insane left wing policies.
It has (and not just in portugal, but pretty much the whole world) skewed so far to the left, that what 100 years ago would be considered far left, is now by you considered "far-right".
Something has to give, the insane lefting policies that is taking over the world simply are not sustainable. Im not saying the following is what you're wanting to do, just a general remark, but consider the irony in people voting for certain policies, after a while saying "this shit sucks", moving somewhere else where its better, and voting for the crap that turned previous place shit :)
(I am danish, living in Portual now)

People in Portugal seem much more happy than people in Denmark. More friendly, smiling a lot more too.
In Denmark people are difficult to get close to, not that friendly, get pissed off quickly. But if you manage to get closer, then they are not too bad.
