@GottaLaff Edited for clarity: True sometimes. In Canada we have a in our Charter of Rights, section 11, "a right to a fair trial and trial within a reasonable time", not the US? ( I can't remember, it's been too long).
There have been cases thrown out of court because it took too long. Recently, due to a shortage of judges many cases were tossed. (The shortage is being addressed now.)
@Snowshadow True sometimes, yes. Because of things you mentioned, sometimes delay is inevitable.
@GottaLaff Too often it is delayed by unscrupulous lawyers and over lenient judges.
@Snowshadow Oh absolutely. And in the US, not enough judges, too many cases, and inequality among defendants
@[email protected] Very heavy on the inequality among defendants. We have the same problem here in Canada. Wealthy can hire great lawyers and the poor are screwed.
