I skimmed the transcript of this video, but for me the big question is how to make people see that things like same-sex marriage and abortion are also human rights issues, and that it's not acceptable under any circumstances to throw other marginalized groups under the bus. And I'm not saying that as someone from the middle class looking down, like this YouTuber seems to think -- if you saw where I lived and how I work, you'd know this isn't an accurate portrayal of progressives. And half my family are Hispanic. Yes, there are some family members with troubling religious opinions, but it's really unfair to make blanket statement implying all Hispanic people oppose abortion, or that Black people oppose same-sex marriage.

The real problem is that churches are massive and effective propaganda engines that are never really held accountable for disseminating political opinions. And I know they can be effective. I was caught up in that shit myself for a while when I was young and impressive, so I know how effective it is. But I've seen religious people change their opinion about abortion and LGBTQ+ rights once someone explains to them why these things hurt other people, so I know there's hope.

Again, maybe I'm missing the point of the video. I did try to grasp the central point, but I also skimmed it in text because I didn't want to watch it, so forgive me if I'm way off base here. There used to be a regular on r/gamingcirclejerk on reddit who would comment things like "the left really needs to compromise on abortion" or "the left needs to be more anti-immigration," so I bristle a bit when I get these same vibes lol

Edit: OP has a history of posting transphobic and anti-woke comments:

CW: Transphobia

Nah, the guys doing the child genital multilation are on the other side

The fewer people we have laundering their activism through academia, the better academia will be!

Are you ifentifying as a fungus now?

I think this would muddle op’s assumption here, which seems to be that anyone who disagrees with him either has ill intent or is ignorant (My Notation: This is referring to homophobia, implying that all homophobia is not either based on ill intent or ignorance -Link)
