Many Danes cannot find work anymore, or even an affordable place to live. So we do not like the idea of foreigners coming in with lots of experience and getting the jobs instead of us. Many people (not me) will get even angrier if from a different race or won't follow our culture. And the LGBT too.
That's the thing. A trans Danish person is usually OK here. But a trans foreigner is a double whammy. If you are different race too, then triple whammy.

As an American, I’m already a “mixed mutt…” (American Indian + English + German…) but look Caucasian. I’ve had no problems adapting to the local culture. Have lived in Japan for the past 15 years and speak/read Japanese at business level. But the culture here is increasingly more difficult as one ages in IT…
