Christian III (1503-1559).
He implemented a prohibition against the use of witness statements that were induced by torture. This was the main reason that the witch craze didn't go crazy in Denmark the way it did in many other European countries.
He also faced significant challenges during his rule, including a civil war known as the Count's Feud. This conflict erupted when the German Count Christopher, a second cousin of Christian III, attempted to seize the throne.
Furthermore, Christian III was a proponent of Lutheranism even before the Reformation reached its peak. Notably, he was present in Worms to hear Martin Luther speak. Under his leadership, Denmark transitioned to becoming a Protestant country.
