Hi,

I've been offered a job by a company as communication manager.

I asked if it was possible to work part-time, and they said it was possible but then that they'd hire me as a private contractor, so I would have to create a "enkeltmandsvirksomhed" to get a CVR number.

Is there any reason why it would be easier for a company to do that? I worked in Denmark both as full-time and part-time employee, so I'm a bit confused about why they couldn't hire me as part-time employee here. I'd like to have more information before I ask them directly; basically, is it a bit shady (I assume they don't have to pay holiday or sick days), or does that make sense somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe I should say - the paperwork for you as a contractor is quite a bit more. You have to keep correct ledgers for your company, probably have an accountant and turn in your VAT taxes twice a year (four times if your turnover is large enough), and hand in taxes and result for your company once a year at the first of july.

Is that for basic enkeltmandsvirksomhed? Or more "advanced" company set up? Aps?

They would be my only client so there wouldn't be too much bookeeping, I think.

Pretty much the same. A lot have an ApS or even a A/S as a single person company. It depends a bit on what you plan to do with the company.
