nice pics! are they like Solvang and leaning into the "danishness", or is it just the name?

Mainly the name to best honest. But they did win Australia’s tidiest town in 1998 - so that is very Danish!

Is there a stereotype about Danish tidiness that I don't know about?

All of Scandinavia is perceived as ultra clean, ultra modern and minimalist here.

Copenhagen has rubbish in a lot of places, not sure why people would say that.

It's because you compare to other Danish cities. It's like when people complain about public transport in Copenhagen. It's been better, so there's reason to complain. But, even at its worst, the overall cleanliness and public transport, for that matter, is miles ahead of most other bigger cities.

Or you just wanted to get a dig at Copenhagen in there, in which case you're obviously also wrong, but that's for a different thread.

I was hiking Hærvejen som years ago. I'll say that there is a lot of worn down houses in Northern Jutland and backyards with a ton of shit. So I guess it's just how we all are :D

It’s named after a person called Alexander Denmark and it’s got no ties to the country Denmark, interestingly.

The Denmark River was given its modern name in December 1829 by naval ship's surgeon Thomas Braidwood Wilson after his mentor, naval surgeon Alexander Denmark, Physician of the Fleet, Resident Physician at the Royal Hospital Haslar, and past-Physician to the Mediterranean Fleet.

Fra Wikipedia, hvor en del hollændere også er nævnt fra de tidlige dage, så jeg ved hvor meget det egentlig har med vores lille kongerige at gøre.

Men sjovt navn er det da.

I visited Denmark (the town) many years ago, and it’s not anything like Solvang. It’s just a regular Australian town:))
