From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

is it counting android as linux?

if so, it shouldn't be, imo. android is deployed and used differently than Linux and is not really the same in spirit. if you can't have root, I'd not count it as Linux for the purposes of something like this.

It says Desktop Operating System, so I would assume not.

It says desktop in the image, I assume if it counted android it would be over 50% since apple is not as popular here.

Android is at 52%, desktop linux at 4% if you count desktop + mobile.

4% is still massive.

Android is counted seperately. I checked.
