Now I'm deep into my Game of Thrones reread I'm reminded of the disappointments I first had with the show. I think one of my big petty disappointments is the costuming, everyone is so colourful in the books, even old Ned wears a bit of colour. I get why it was changed, but it would have been fun to see everyone not constantly in their House colours.
Even when they ARE in their house colours, the costuming as described is way more extravagantly full on in the books than the show.
I love reading about the subtle things, like embroidery and buckles and fastening made to look like little things from their home lands.
Also would have loved show Sam to rock up to The Wall in his fancy arse clothes, would have been rather humorous, him in his lovely purple velvet doublet.
