Hi!
I see similar posts here from time to time, it's unclear how active this sub is for English speaking people moving or living in Denmark. I would love to get advice or hear about others on their experience moving to Denmark from the US. We are middle-aged and artists, so we have a lot of personal belongings we wish to take with us. We also have two older cats that we refuse to leave behind. My spouse has Danish citizenship and I will be applying for permanent citizenship in Denmark.
Some examples of what I am curious about:
- where did you get your biometrics done? I am in the PNW and the nearest consulate is in Palo Alto. The ministry of foreign affairs website (in Denmark) doesn't have a working hyperlink to alternate options. We plan on calling them, but that doesn't negate my interest in other's experience
- if you moved the contents of your home, how did it go? Which relocation service did you use, or did you just ship boxes of personal items?
- did you fly pets out there, and if so, how did it go?
I have a ton of other questions-- but these are the big ones currently.
Thanks!

Original Title: I moving to Denmark with my Danish spouse in four months. I am an American looking to connect with other Americans who have made this move; mostly about moving logistics and paperwork hurdles. Apologies for posting in English.

Instagram account @annieineventyrland is a American mom who moved to Denmark. The account entertains the small curiousities and differences between our countries in a light way.

Ha! My spouse has mentioned her account to me. He states that it's an excellent perspective. Ok, I will get on Instagram too!

Even before moving to our country we have already poisoned your previously healthy consumption of social medias haha. Jokes aside, really hope you’ll enjoy it here. 😊
