It wasn't scary, but it was disturbing and very well narrated (not a fan of some political messaging tho. Breaks the immersion). What are your thoughts on it?

The author himself says his work isn't necessarily scary, but rather that it makes him scared and shares it through his lens. I remember reading that description in a foreword on one of the first books of him that I read and it stuck with me. I don't think I read any of his works and felt it was scary either, but they are creepy and I can appreciate that.

I haven't read it in a few years so some details escape me. I do remember it feeling comparable to a b horror movie, kinda generic, kinda bad but in an enjoyable way.

Do not remember what the political tone was, so I can't comment on that.

Edit: thought this was about Edgar Allan Poe's book.

Are you talking about Mike Flanagan or Edgar Allen Poe?

Just looked it up, did not know there was a TV show with the name, I was talking about the book from Edgar Allan Poe.
