Woooo! Finally managed to get that Friday evening that I've been longing for, after a long long time - beers with the crew followed by karaoke! It was a very tame affair compared to my usual stints, but at least I managed to bring out my inner Veronicas, Freddie Mercurie and Chester Bennington, so I ended the night feeling fairly l content. Unfortunately I don't get a chance to belt out any Carly Rae Jepsen or Britney Spears numbers, so guess I'll have to wait till next year for that...
Also, if you're in Welly - DON'T go to Archie bros for karaoke unless you've got no other option. They've got a great song selection but it's expensive af (like super expensive), plus they close down relatively early - 1AM! They also don't serve any soju there, and the mic in our room didn't even work! (not that we needed a mic...). But the peanut butter whisky shots were yum, and they also had cinema-style popcorn which was nice.
Wellington needs more karaoke spots
Oh man, Soju and Karaoke - takes me back to when I spent loads of time in Seoul for work... Oh, and Tornado shots too 😂 We used to joke that my boss had a double - one who took the night shift, drinking everyone under the table and staying up till dawn, then he'd go to sleep and the real one would take over, there for the 8AM meeting, shirt pressed, shoes polished, sharp as anything. Those were the days...
