I recently purchased this motherboard (name in title), and on the box it says it's compatible with Intel's 12th and 13th gen CPUs. I myself got i9-12900kf.

Now i don't plan to upgrade to 14th gen, at least until prices drop a bit, even though i myself would rather wait for 15th gen or whatever is coming after 14th.

But considering that on the box it says with 12th and 13th, does that mean that 14th gen or even 15th wouldn't work on it?

I thought Z790 boards were newer? Or is mine just not uber high end expensive?

Socket LGA1700 will work with 12th, 13th, and 14th gen, although 13th and 14th gen may require a BIOS update if it's an earlier production model.

The upcoming 15th gen will be a new socket, so it won't work on this motherboard.
