Surely it would place a massive asterisk on all the trophies won during his time at Man City? In future discussions on the greatest manager would this be a talking point which stains our perception on him? Or will he still be lauded as the greatest by some despite the wider context?

It would make all his achievements at city null and void. If you can't win within the rules, you are effectively a cheat.

Come on now, how’s Pep got anything to do with the financials. He’s got no clue if they’ve been breaking FFP rules.

Pep had the bank account in Andorra to hide income as alleged by the Spanish tax authorities. The SkySports article re the Man City FFP violations says:

“Allegedly, they did not fully disclose the financial remunerations that were made to one of their managers over a four-year period. The suggestion is that there was a secret contract so one of the managers was getting paid much more than officially stated.”

Who do you suppose that one manager was? One of the assistants probably wouldn’t be getting paid enough to matter. https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11679/12804623/man-city-premier-league-charges-explained-what-are-they-what-could-punishment-be-whats-the-timescale
