You can't rely on a private corporation to be your mouthpiece. That's exactly why privatizing stuff doesn't work and this is a clear example. Billionaires/corporations cannot operate on "good faith." Cities or governments need to either switch to the Fediverse or something else. But this isn't going to work when you have deranged billionaires buying things so they can try to end democracies.
