Jorge Mendes mouthpiece, and Mendes has a close relationship with Laporta AFAIK. Not saying this news is reliable, just thought it was interesting to point out

For whatever reason, Laporta may want to be connected to this player by the media,aube to try and deflect criticism from Xavi or himself. All speculation ofc
