Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

My porch light sometimes gets left on and annoys my very nice neighbor. It’s on a schedule but sometimes someone turns it on after the scheduled off time and forgets to turn it off. Is there a way to give her access to that switch only? I am using Kasa wifi switches and Alexa in the rest of the house. Thanks.

The only way to let her into your wifi switches is to let her into your wifi. Its too complicated to get them to learn it. Id say you rather just create 2-3 extra scheduled turn off times, so if it ever misses one turn off command, it will catch the next one.

Totally incorrect. My father controls my lights from across the country using the Kasa app. He is just signed in under my name

Well ... that does mean youre giving them access to any device connected to that account. There is no restrictive view that lets them control only 1 light

Isn't there some sort of way you could create an alias of your email address that could be connected to triggering a light?
