Lmao what? Messi and several other notable players wanted Valverde to stay, despite that he was sacked while top of the league. Griezmann also left Barcelona after Messi did, because they needed to get his wages off the books. Also pretty sure that Messi did not want Suárez to leave, who was essentially forced out of the club due to the same reasons.
