The one upside?
You can start a "new game" with someone else. And you don't have to put the knight in the middle.
Sure, you still don't have many options, but each "new game" provides opportunity, despite the limitations.
The one downside?

You can remove it from the board and try again. The rules of the game do not dictate that which is outside of the game.
