I have been a long time Scribe user (got it primarily for reading on a large DX-sized screen) and like (and hate) the writing, so I finally got a remarkable 2 at a nearby store. The features (especially the templates and real vector PDF exports) are absolute miles beyond Scribe, as in, aside from the highlighter with no size choices, it's exactly what I want (and yay, no screen gap from the front light!)... but drawing lines with a ruler, what is with these squiggles? Is this bad factory calibration or a defect?
I probably wouldn't have noticed if I had handwriting that filled college-rule lines, or wide rule... but alas, at work I regularly fill A6 sized pads with two lines of my writing per line of narrow rule (with a .28mm Uniball Signo). It's just habit at this point and saves paper. This calibration issue also makes it difficult to practice Kanji. Accurately landing the tip relative to existing strokes is hit or miss with this.
I did try writing with the Fineliner medium on a page with a "Lined small," template and if I write so large that I absolutely stuff the lines, it is not as noticeable. If I write so large that I absolutely stuff the lines of "Lined medium," the issue pretty much becomes negligible. My handwriting hasn't been that large since grade school, however.
So, I'm just wondering if this is normal calibration, and I should return it and keep using squished tree corpses until these devices (plural because the screen gap makes the Scribe a chore to write small on as well) can handle tiny writing, or exchange it for a new unit if abnormal. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I had a bigger issue of that type and got a replacement one. You should ask the support, they'll tell you.
In my case it was too much, even for a bigger writing, but I'm afraid yours is normal. The pen placement is very sensitive to magnetism with this technology.
