I'm wondering if there are any solutions to add distributed audio to existing speakers. I remember that Google used to sell an audio-only Chromecast with 3.5mm out. I think they got into a pissing match with Sonos and lost so they killed it. Is there something else I can look at to add audio to my existing bookshelf speakers and sound bars? Is there a cost-effective audio extractor of I wanted to just use some video Chromecast or something?

I'm building out a system to sync music between my multiple bookshelf systems using snapcast on rPi /hi berry DAC running Mopidy music players. Should be able to plug into any device depending on the DAC you choose. Control from my phone. Choose which snapcast /combo of snapcast clients to sync to. All without having to run multichannel audio to every room
