[Done] Restarting Lemmy.world at 17:00 CET for server upgrade (lemmy.world)

Apparently in some parts of the world it's already Monday June 12th. I see registrations going up.

This results in the server CPU staying around 70% even spiking over 90%. So I will upgrade the VPS from 4cpu/16GB to 8cpu/32GB.

Expect a few minutes downtime at 17:00 CET

Then I move it to a dedicated server, like I did with mastodon.world which has 164k users and had over 100k active users at it's peak.

How is the funding? Do you need help? Will this be a long term project?

Funding is still OK but we might need to upgrade the server again soon. Links for funding are on the homepage sidebar. I don't quit this server as long as it's used. If I ever get tired of it I hand it over.

I was thinking of starting my own server first and host it on hetzner or digitalocean because I have good experience with those and they're easy to scale. Anyway I'm here now and it's better to see this one grow :) If I can help in any way let me know.
