Looks like Barnsley have a player called Marsh, who was at York City and loan for the original tie which ended in a draw. Inbetween that and the replay, he was recalled and was put on the bench. Because he wasn't eligible for the original tie, he shouldn't have been named in the squad for the replay.
It's harsh but there's no way a team as big as Barnsley should be letting stuff like that slide. I follow a 9th tier side who are involved in about 5 cups a season (including FA cup) and they know exactly who is eligible and who isn't.
