Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

Hello guys new to this sub! I have been doing my research on backing up stuff on ssd to keep it safe. I take a lot of photos on vacations. So I was thinking to get external SSD/HDD. What i have found is that ( from my understanding) best way to go is to purchase ssd and enclosure seperately. Was thinking to get ASUS ARION M2.NVMe and WD 2TB SN770 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe M.2 2280 Is this a good combination? Can I just put this SSD into Asus's enclosure and use it on a MacBook? Any advice would be appreciated!
