4090 laptops are a total scam.

You have so many package power variants that some of those performs worst than 4080 high power ones.

Like WTF?

I always hated the way both AMD and nvidia names their mobile GPUs, but for this round nvidia seriously fucked things up.

Is this your first day learning about laptop dgpus and their various TGP ratings?

The 4090 laptop (AD103) is very power starved. The 175w tdp makes it basically a Max-q version.

I only got it instead of a 4080 laptop because I knew would be shunt modding it and the 25% gains definitely show how much it's power limited. It really needs about 225w to reach full potential.

when i was looking at used laptops i was trying to get one with a rtx 3060. Theres like 3 different power limits. A lot of the laptops seem to max at 65w but some offer 85w and some offer 130w. Wouldn't be so dumb if the companies advertised the wattage with the gpu but of course they dont.
