Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

Hi! Not really sure if this is the right sub, but if I search portable nas on Google, it shows posts from this sub. So, I am looking for a portable NAS, for road trips. Not looking for too much storage, but I want to be able to bring and use it on the road, accessing videos and files from an iPad 10th gen or an android phone or a laptop. So, something powered by a power bank will be nice. First thing that comes to mind is a raspberry pi setup, but if there are any off the shelf options, the ease of that will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the are some models from the GL-INET travel routers that have usb 3.0 and sd cards slots for sharing, you can turn on the mini nas feature for traveling.

if you are more like DIY you can get a small raspberry pi with a external driver for sharing.
