We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

Ex BB employee(its been a looooong time, like 2010), they absolutely have authority to price match, what might have happened is if you have an account they could have seen youre a constant "price matcher" and just gave you the run around to get you out. Never heard of them doing that for price matching, but we did do that for repeat return/exchanges(had a guy come in and exchange laptops like once a week for a while, managers told him off).
Call corporate, theyre much more accommodating(or at least they used to be) and might be able to muscle your store into doing their job.....or just buy from Micro Center and support an actual enthusiasts store
