I love connect. It's how I send all my books and stuff from the desktop straight to the tablet. Special offers I'm not bothered.

It’s actually possible without the subscription

Yeah you can but you would have to send them through the ReMarkable app. There would be no way to connect your tablet to your Google Drive account or Dropbox acct . If you bought a ReMarkable 2 in the early days around 2 years ago like me you would’ve gotten a free subscription for life.
