Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

Is there a device i can use to change channel when adverts start and change back on a timer? (alien.top)

I saw something called a mutedaddy that mutes the tv when you press the button and unmutes after 2 minutes. I realise you have to get the right infrared code to make it work, can i program it with my remote's 'back' button, as this button switches between my current channel and the last channel i watched. if not, is there some other device that could do a similar thing? I just don't want to sit in silence, that's all.
